Three people were injured in a car accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 85, according to news reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the 60 mile marker on I-85. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 38-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe southbound when he made a lane change and struck a Hyundai SUV, driven by 56-year old of Danville, Virginia; that was parked in the emergency lane. The Hyundai<\/a> flipped over, while the SUV spun around and went back into traffic, where it was struck by an 18-wheeler. <\/p>\n

The driver of the Tahoe was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional Hospital following the collision. A passenger in the Tahoe was also airlifted to the hospital after being ejected from the SUV. She was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Hyundai was also transported to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Tahoe driver was charged with driving too fast for conditions, according to news reports.<\/p>\n

Hospital officials told news reports that the driver of the Hyundai is still in serious condition.<\/p>\n
